Haiku

- 1284 reads
Glittering pavements
salt crunches beneath their feet
gingerly they walk.
-
Flurry of raindrops
sudden against the window
covers pulled tighter.
-
On the highest branch
the last leaf of autumn hangs
still, against the sky.
-
A little boat bobs
gently in the harbour
bleached by the sunshine.
-
Frost spreads it’s fingers
slides across a window pane
vanishes at warm breath.
-
A first drop of rain
darkens the ground and another
a third, a fourth.
-
A still night, no wind
snatches of conversation
reach her in the dark.
-
Light from the window
hazy through the fog and rain
speaks of warmth waiting.
-
The heath, trees twisted
shaped by the relentless wind
steady, eternal
-
A beating of wings
the pheasant bursts from the gorse
startled by footsteps
