A poem I wrote a bit back, inspired by a girl I knew having difficulty moving past a tumultuous relationship. I hope you all enjoy {:)

Let Him Go

Hey girl, I see you want to cry
you have to let him go
I know
it hurts you deep inside.
The memories, he smiles in your dreams
you have to let him be
and please
don't you feed into his lies.
Cuz he has broke your heart before
and though he said that he wont hurt you anymore
I'm sure
he wont even have to try.
Cuz it still hurts to say hear his name
and I know that your tired of deal'n with the pain
so babe
you should let those feelings die

cuz you have loved, and you have lost
and you have hurt to pay the cost.
And you have cried, for all you've known
but girl it's time to let him go.
Cuz you don't need to feel that way
and you know nothing gold can stay
but time will pass, and you will grow
so my advice is let him go

Hey girl, your heart will love again
but just remember all he said
cuz friend
it has made you who you are.
He built you up and tore you down
and things were beautiful when he was still around
but now
you have come so very far.
And you know what it is to love
and you know how it feels when two people are one
and some
never felt that way before.
Just take some joy in all you've learned
and just remember that, that flame may always burn
in turn
girl you'll find another star

and yes it kills him, but you know its for the best
so rest
cuz recovery is long.

and soon enough you'll find the peace that he denied
so try
