She'd never done it before. This was the first time. When Rajesh
told her about the amount of money she could make in just one night,
she couldn't believe her own ears. But she also wanted to know how it
felt. So she agreed. The guy would be waiting at the Eagle bar and
together they'd proceed to his house. Sounded pretty easy.
"Be sure you're protected." Rajesh patted her shoulder
affectionately.
"Yeah, I understand," She said.
Their eyes met for a brief second. He nodded and smiled, as if to say,
'It'll be ok.'
She sighed and stepped out into the cold winter night.
Thankfully the eagle bar wasn't very far away from where she lived so
reaching there wouldn't be a problem. She decided to walk. The cold
wind made her shiver a bit but it was ok. She was wearing a thick polo
neck sweater. But beneath it she wore next to nothing. After all the
guy had to have some motivation to take her home, didn't he? As she
neared the bar, her thoughts wavered. Was she doing the right thing?
She didn't know. People did all kinds of things to survive. And she was
no different.
The crowded bar lowered a few decibels the moment she walked in. She
could literally feel the million eyes crawling all over her. Her eyes
searched for her guy. There he was, over at the last table, beside the
cashier. She walked over to him. He smiled and rose to pull back her
chair. Chivalry. She was impressed. He wasn't bad looking either.
The meal at the bar wasn't anything to write home about. Come on, it
was a bar, not a restaurant. They climbed up the stairs to his
apartment. He kept grinning at her all the while, like a teen taking
his girl friend home for the first time. After spending a good minute
fumbling for the right key, he pushed the door open and held it for her
to enter. She walked in slowly, looked all around her. He closed the
door behind him and walked up to her. 'Well?'
She smiled. 'Nice place."
She pulled her sweater over her head. She could've sworn she heard a
gasp coming from him.
He turned her around and held her face. His fingers trembled.
Surprisingly, she was calmer than she'd expected. He held her hand and
slowly led her to his bedroom.

The phone rang 6 times before she picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hi sweety, Rajesh. Done with it?"
She pushed her hair back and sat up. "Yeah."
"Good. You ok?'
'Hmm."
"Good girl. Hope you were careful."
"Yes. Nothing to worry."
He chuckled. "Hey, you sound like a professional you know? You could
make a career out of this."
She rolled her eyes. 'Yeah, yeah. Listen, you got the money?"
There was a pause. "Yeah, I got it."
She relaxed. "Ok, I'll meet you tomorrow. Same place."
"Ok. And darling.."
"Yes?"
"The gun?"
"Don't worry, I wiped the finger prints and threw it away. The silencer
too."
She hung up looked at the phone for a while. A career out of this. Who
knows? Maybe?
