Mortality

Fatal outcome looms in, on muted wings
Chaos, destruction, and doubt it brings
Just moments before, lives were whole
In arbitary shrewd, it searches its toll
No weapons protect, from deaths steely seize
No mercy approved, no respite, no ease
No surrender, no outcome, no pact to make
It engulfs all we love, for its own in take
Rocking mortalities, fragile and frail
Stealing belief, it lays waste, in its trail
Forcing, demanding, a final goodbye
With feelings, emotion realities vie
In its wake litters longing, issue, and pain
The combat to bear, endorsement in vain
A lifetime of missing, till hope filters through
Then memories abide, in the loved ones we knew
A hope for the future, respect in their name
Day-by-day settles in, until death fly's again
