Yesterdaytodaytomorrow
today is a version of yesterday.
It is not that strange really.
I get up at 0600 and sit on a tram by 0704.
work commences at 0800 or I am early or late. no flexibility anymore.
it was removed from the benefits package which was agreed by the union
and management 2 years ago. the rigidity of this causes problems for
many employees in relation to childcare and school and other social
procedures that infringe on the needs of the business. the pc is logged
onto with the same password that must be changed approx 11 times per
annum to satisfy the current company/network security policy in line
with existing legislation. work commences : 7 calls per hour must be
logged : an aht of 270 seconds per call must be adhered to. Failure to
satisfy these requirements results in no pay rise, no bonus and
sometimes : enforced redundancy on lack of productivity grounds. Phone
codes are utilised . ie : 2 = comfort break, 8 = caseworking
allocation, 6 = lunch. Codes must be used or work flow management staff
ask why. Spreadsheets are completed and passed up to management. The
spreadsheet must be correct. I am an abstraction upon the spreadsheet.
Correct means meeting the decreed target. There is no scope for
incorrect. The management for whom the spreadsheet is designed know the
spreadsheet as the truth. It is used to make decisions which have an
affect. It is called a management tool. Dinner time is 1200 for I hour
and must be logged. The afternoon is the same as the morning. I will do
the same procedures for 5.5 days out of 1 week. Tomorrow does never
come.
