Everything we've ever learnt,
Is locked up in our minds.
Everything we've ever known,
We chose to leave behind.
And everything we've ever seen,
Is lost amongst the haze.
And everything we'll ever learn,
Is in our future days.
For what are dreams,
If no-one's there to test them?
And what are lives,
If no-ones's there to break them?
Everything we ever want,
Is bought by somene else.
Everything we ever loved,
Is left up on the shelf.
And everything we've ever touched,
Has never turned to gold.
And everything we've ever owned,
Has been exchanged or sold.
For what are dreams,
If no-one's there to test them?
And what are lives,
If no-ones's there to break them?
