River Song

River Song

The river rolled by,
The water rippled near.
It mirrored the sky above,
So, blue and so clear.
Here on the river bank
Lying underneath the trees,
I listen to the river's song
Carried to the seas.
Its song soothes my tired soul,
And washes away my blues
Carrying my heart back to
Happier times I once knew.
The birds sing a chorus
To the, majestic river's song.
A day of peace such as this
Could never last too long.
So, here on the bank
I'll linger for a while?
For the river's song
Can always bring a smile.
