About Lenny's Odyssey

Once a young enthusiastic field medic
he yearned to do more.
As his waistline expanded, his finances retracted. A chemist by day,
he hit the books by night. The glow of the flashing red lights served
as his reading light. This never deterred his appetite for learning, or
RingDings.

Still, his waistline expanded
Any exercise disbanded.

Marriage, four kids, two jobs and school
an Adonis does not make.
His stress relieved by steady cake intake.

So he became a self-perceived Knight of medicine, jousting heart
disease in Gotham.
And his waist size did soar
Any thought aerobic, extinct like a dinosaur.

Thoughts of Suburbia danced in his head,
soon would be crushed like his wife in the bed.
For it is in Suburbia that his two mentors have reigned,
Causing his sleeping ulcer to become inflamed.

And so it goes
this uneasy triumvirate
one eye always on the two mentors
the other on his ever expanding girth.

A Knight he is not, nor is he thin.
Nor is he Adonis:
More of a woman's chagrin.
