Predestination

What am I?
A kid? Or a councilor?
How do you all expect me to come up with your
Solutions? To compose meaningful words of comfort at the drop of a hat with diction that will Somehow tear through the fabric of time, altering the past,
The action,
The consequence?
How in the world can you rely on the aid of a foolish little girl with nothing but a handful of years and knowledge at her disposal?
Why would you choose to confide in me?
Is it that you’re too exhausted? Too embarrassed? Too ignorant to seek more qualified Guidance?
Or is this just the role He assigned to me…the Listener…the Confidant?
Maybe I don’t wanna just listen.
Maybe I wanna act! But,
No one asked me.
Maybe I wanna be heard for once and watch as you scramble to improvise a credible monologue To sooth my heavy heart! But…
I sit.
And I listen.
And in your silence I wrack my brain for the enlightened oracle…the one you have been dying to hear.
Am I a kid? Or a Councilor?
No one asked me.
