Broken Dreams

She only wishes for a better life,
This offer--
Could it put an end to her strife?
Could it be the answer to her dreams?

This man,
He could give her all she wants!
At least, he says he can,
She could be set free!

She goes
Goes to this New World,
Her excitement truly shows,
Finally, the good life!

But the serpent strikes,
This is not what she wants!
She fights and she fights,
For all her broken dreams.

But she is beaten
she is hurt
she is broken
she is robbed of innocence
and of her dignity.

All her dreams are broken,
For she has been deceived
Now you may say--
"Foolish girl! Naive girl!"

But allow me one question
How do you know you are being deceived?
You don't.

Who, who can save her?
From being crushed
by all her broken dreams.
