Chapter 5
'So what's really the matter, I have known you for ages, and you and Vicky don't just fight, I don't think I have ever known you to fight, and I have never seen her that angry.'
'Its nothing, I just think that Vicky is fed up of me hanging round with you as well.'
'That's not it, I know you, I know when your lying, now tell me the truth.'
'You want the truth, fine, I don't think that we should be together any more, I think that we are just to different.' as I said this, the car squealed to a halt,
'What! Where are you coming from, I thought that we loved each other?'
'O yeah, then how come I have been getting the silent treatment form everyone at this stupid party,'
'They didn't give you the.' I cut him off,
'You don't have to lie for them, I know how they feel about me, this just isn't going to work,' he started up the car again,
'Fine, once your home we don't have to speak again.'
'I don't want that, I just think that its to hard for us to be together, and if we were meant to be together, its wouldn't be this hard.'
'You know I thought that you could handle a relationship, but now I see that your just a immature little girl how runs when the going gets tough.'
'That's not true, I just don't feel the same any more,'
'Save it, I don't want to know any more, you said what you want and that's it.'
'That's not fair, I'm allowed my opinion, you know this is one of the reasons I don't want to be with you any more.'
'Ha, you don't want to be with me because this is getting serious, not because I have suddenly changed,'
'That is the reason.' I told him, angered by the lack of trust that was growing between us. I looked over at the speed monitor, 'why are we going so fast, slow down, it's a 40 limit here.' the gauge was reaching 80, and the car was screeching around the corners.
'I am getting you home quicker, I don't want to see you any more, and anyway, relax, there is nothing round this part of town anyway, its just us and the animals.' he laughed, I had never seen him like this before, I wanted to get out, even though I didn't know the way home, I suddenly didn't trust him at all, like he was a stranger. Vicky was right, he probably was drunk, I just never saw it. Conner, I thought, I need you now. How I longed to be in his arms, to feel the warmth of his touch, instead of the coldness of the car's interior seat, the foreign feeling I now had, I wanted to feel safe in Conner's arms. We were reaching 90 mp/h now, I didn't think that the car would take it. It spun round the next corner, and the next.
'please slow down,' I thought, 'please' then I saw it, the animal in the road, a fox, or a cat maybe, and we were heading straight for it. I had a second to react, not thinking about Rob, or me. I grabbed the steering wheel, and pulled it towards me.
'What the!!.' Rob yelled, 'Hey, get off the wheel.' he pulled my hand off, a part of me was relieved that the animal, what ever it was, was safe, and out of harms way, for the moment.
'What did you think you were doing, you crazy cow!' Rob yelled at me,
'Slow down, you nearly hit something,' I shouted back,
'What, you nearly killed us for that animal back there?'
'You're the one killing us, slow the heck down would you, were going to crash.'
'O give it a rest would you, I will go as fast as I want to, and some little teenage brat isn't going to stop me.' he said, now looking at me,
'Rob, look at the road, not at me you idiot,' I screamed, but it was to late, he had hit the side of the road, and the only thing I could do was scream, as the car tipped over, and flew into a field.
