We are not playing with clay
You can still come make my day
Because you are my sweet bay
And why I no longer stray
Even without fine dining
Boy you won't hear me whining
Cos our love it ain't dying
It's how the sun keeps shining
They can watch and they can talk
But if we should hold the chalk
Then gotta watch how we walk
And not tread over these stalks
Pick up their R.E.M.s
Before this tune ends
We can make our amends
And share Guten Abends
Because
I'll be surprisingly good for you
Give you no reason to go singing the blues
And to our course I will stay true
Let's all act now before we miss the cue
Cos we have lived on the brink
And like fish we did drink
Hang out at skating rinks
Just to watch that girl blink
And we need breathing space
To win this long race
Ending this paper chase
Should become the new craze
But yet
Each time you puffed up it is a crying shame
That's not the way you should be using your fame
Trying our best not too look too vain
Greening our world that is still our aim
Your life may not be easy
That ain't cause to go teasing
Cos each time you talk crazies
Action time has been ceasing
Give me my stack of good worms
And let us watch this earth churn
I don not need a new perm
Just to make these tables turn
And if God is a DJ
We will all wear his PJs
Taking some green steps each day
So we can still hear the jay
