Grow up, Dumbo

Should I allow him, to make me his bride
Is that all it takes, so you rest your pride
Is this a gamble, my future the stake
A risk that I take, for our heaven's sake
If you read through me and know that I'm sad
Would you be so brave and knock on my pad
Have you forgotten the harsh words we said
Or would you continue being some lad
And if today, I should be so lucky
Found a man with whom I'm truly happy
Would you like to meet him and have a word
Then hold your peace and not call him a turd?
Or would you vow to do even better
Yet know those words, they don't really matter
Only need to know that we are human
Hold me right, like when I was your woman
Know that I would never at you sman
Even if you're reduced to a beggar
Remember you aspired to be singer
It's our world I'll run with you, writer
And if one day you should regret our loss
Remember my scent, and burn some fresh joss
Then you will realize our bond is not lost
It grew with time like our stack of compost
Trust is the key, turn our back on lost time
Encouraged to live, do you give a dime?
Forgive to forget we've cleaned up our mess
Love our neighbors whose business we'll bless
