New jeans

New Blue Jeans

I love my new blue jeans
that my Auntie Margaret made.
Though at first I wasn't keen,
my other ones were frayed

so I thought I'd better get
some new ones sorted out
but my Dad wouldn't let me.
He just began to shout

"Do you think I'm made of money?
You scruffy little brat."
And although it might seem funny,
the joke soon goes flat

when you hear it every time
you need a new school shirt
and you hear it every time
your sister needs a skirt.

It's just as well I s'pose
I love my new blue jeans.
cos I don't have many clothes
and what I have I can't keep clean

or so my Mum keeps saying
to Gill and Auntie Pat,
"Just look at him again
the scruffy little brat."
