Holiday.

Holidays they are very important. They are different things to different people. Some like to go on a skiing holiday, while others like to go to the Caribbean. A work colleague of mine, he and his family went every year for two weeks to ….. Blackpool! My favourite place on Earth is Malta, and all been well, I would like to go back. It wasn’t cheap, my lovely Daughter Meghan, surprised me one Christmas Day, and we went in June, the following year. She had paid for everything, and the weather was HOT! Malta didn’t disappoint; it went far beyond my expectations.
Other people I work with, they go to the same place each year, one family goes to, Greece, another to Turkey, while a family member loves going to Portugal. A work colleague now retired, went each year on a cruise, to different places.
The last time Paul our kids and I went on holiday, we went to Jamaica, it was VERY hot, too hot really. I thought I liked and could stand the heat, but Jamaica proved me wrong. That was many years ago, when the kids were young, but old enough to remember it for the rest of their lives. I remembered I had brought umbrellas for us all, from England and we used them.
But as hot as Jamaica was, I burnt in Malta, I didn’t think when I was on the top of the 10th floor of the hotel each day, that I needed anything, and when I realized and put sun cream on, it was too late. Clever Meghan she covered up with creams, and didn’t burn.
Now with different, younger colleagues, one goes each year to Pakistan and another goes each year to Nigeria.
Holidays they are great, people can reset their buttons and chill out, by themselves or with their families, and return refreshed.
I haven’t done it this year, but for many years, I have booked off for my ‘holiday’ the last two weeks of January. It seems a strange winter time to book off, I know but those dates, they are very important to me, as are other people’s holidays are to them.
So, what is SO special about those dates? It is the TKMaxx Yellow sticker sales!! Over the years, I have bagged many bargains.
Now I know holidays can cost thousands, in Blackpool, Nigeria, Pakistan, Greece, Turkey and Malta! So, bargain hunting in TKMaxx shops, will not cost nowhere near that.
This year I plan to do something different. For Christmas last year, we were all given a voucher on our mobile phones, of £25 with that, we can choose which shop we what to spend it at, I of course chose TKMaxx.
Each year, I usually go to five different TKMaxx stores. As I don’t need anything from any of them, I have decided to give myself a challenge. The challenge will be to spend £5 in each store, IF I see something exceptional, then I will spend £6 in that store. So, my challenge is to spend no more that £30 at the end of it all.
From my home the first store is:-
Six point six miles.
The second store is,
Two point three miles.
The third store is,
Twelve miles.
The fourth store is,
Twenty-five miles.
The fifth store is,
Thirteen miles.
All those miles add up, but they certainly don’t add up to thousands of pounds! I have gone to these stores, each January and loved it, loved the rummaging and mixing and meeting other people there, the excitement, the lovely Staff, the trying on, the linen that I can tie-dye, toys and bedding for the cats, a Must! Even the dogs get a look in, and Paul and maybe the kids! I love these stores SO Much!
And so what, if I go up to £7 for each store, that is still, cheap as chips!
This is Bargain Time, roll on the 19th January when the prices drop, to almost give away. xXx
