My Second Favourite.

At school many moons ago, we had proper assemblies, not like what they have today. Every morning, we would sing a hymn. There are hymns that I know from I was a child age four until I left school age 17. Many different nationalities, sang these same hymns with me, at school, and we are all now in our 60’s, I would like to think, that like some of those children from back then, think of those songs, in whatever their lives turned out to be like.
From my school days, there was a hymn that we sang, and it has stayed my favourite Christ mas song, from then until now. Besides, the songs, Steal Away To Jesus, which we didn’t sing at school, and Abide With Me, which we did sing at school, they don’t make songs like that anymore, my favourite Christ mas song is, In The Bleak Winter, what an amazing song. I love the words, and the tune.
Last year I heard another song, it was Christ mas, time it was on Premier Christian Radio, I played it on repeat, and didn’t get tired of it. This year, I tried to remember what it was called, and thought of a different group, but no that wasn’t it, I feared I would never find it again, my Mum has dementia and I like others who have love ones with it, hope they don’t get it too. For about a week, I tried different variations of what I thought the band was called, without any joy. Then thank God, it came to me, and I remembered.
My second favourite Christ mas Song is by a band called MIKESCHAIR, and the song is called, Redemption Song! Love it, Love it, Love IT!
It has been Good to hear it again, and play it on repeat, on YouTube.
Will be going to Church tomorrow morning with my children and grandson Darius. They won’t be singing, Redemption Song, they may sing, In The Bleak Midwinter.
I have requested one of my favourite songs from school to be sung at my funeral, Abide With Me. x
