Numbers.
In our community, for those who want to join they can a group, in it, information will be made known, all the good and bad that is happening. I have not joined but my Husband Paul has and Meghan too. Some of my co-workers have also joined one is called Miloh.
Last night when Meghan was driving home, she was almost home, on a dual carriageway when she saw a dead cat!
As it was rush-hour traffic, she was unable to swerve, the cat went in between both her wheels, so, she didn’t touch the cat.
When she came home, she was sad, and told Paul and myself about it. She said, “I want to go back, and pick up the cat, so that I can take him to the vets, so that his family can get closure.” Meghan didn’t want him to damage further. She was also not brave enough to pick him up on her own. She remembered how thankful she was last year, when her favourite cat Turmeric was hit and killed and someone had kindly taken him to the vets, and them put it on the community group chat. We were then able to go and collect him from the vets and she had him cremated. He is now in her bedroom.
Paul said, “OK, lets go.” Meghan got a box, some disposable gloves, and a blanket. Within a few minutes after she had arrived home, they set off.
Thirty minutes later they were back, she said, “The cat was not there, someone had already moved him.” I said, “That’s good, that he was not there long.”
In the community group that Paul, Meghan and Miloh are in, Miloh, and 3 others, whenever someone in the group reports of a dead cat, one of the four, will communicate with each other, and one of them, will then go and pick up the dead cat and take him to the vets. They usually wait while the vet checks for the chip in the cat. The vet will them contact the owner to let them know the sad news. They are well known to the local vets.
After they returned, I texted Miloh to let him know, what Meghan had done, by going back for the cat. Miloh understood, and realized it was a sad situation, he said to me, “Here is my mobile number, give this to Meghan, and if she sees a dead cat again to text me and one of us four will go straight away and pick him up.” I said, “OK. Will pass it on to her.”
This morning, I gave Meghan his number. x
