Revels.

Many years ago, I worked with a girl who loved Revels. I loved them too, but she loved them more than I did. One day, when she opened a bag of them, she noticed her favourite one from the bag was missing and another inferior one, put in its place.
She wrote Revels a letter and asked them to, “Please bring it back, as it is my favourite one in the bag.” They replied, and said, “Thank you for your letter, we have discontinued that one,” And they gave her a large voucher, so she could buy lots of Revels.
A few years ago, a new bag of sweets came out! They are called Randoms. With the first bag, I had a favourite, it stood out from the rest of the random sweets, it was pink and fluffyish they were lovely, maybe like a hardish marshmallows, I loved them, and would rummage around in the bag just for them. There were only around four in each bag, but they were worth it.
Then one day, about three months after Randoms came out, I was very surprised to see that they had made a whole bag of the one that I loved! I could not believe it; I was SO excited that I bought two bags! Each time I went to Tesco I would buy two bags and loved each one.
They were called Foamies, by Randoms.
I couldn’t get enough of them, and the two bags would soon be gone. The next time I went shopping, I could not walk past the aisle, and when I did, I could not walk past my Foamies. They were moreish.
It got to the point though, that I was eating too many Foamies, and so I has to use all my inner and outer strength, not to buy them. From then, I had to limit myself to two bags only a week.
It was lovely to know, there were other Foamies lovers were out there too with me. It felt like a little Community or a new Club; The Foamies secret club, it was Wonderful.
Then suddenly, and without warning it was not on the shelf on Tesco’s I was shocked, it was so unexpected, I thought maybe they had just forgotten to order more.
I told my daughter Meghan, who cleverly went on their website, and on there, there were other foamites, who like complaining that they wanted their Foamies back, and wanted to know why they were no longer on our shelves. To my knowledge, Foamies didn’t reply. It felt good to be united, with other liked minded people, we understood each other. Even Paul was sad for me.
Then Randoms, after about three to four months put Randoms back on to Tesco’s shelf. As a True Foamite, I refused to buy them, I wanted Foameies back!! So, I did not buy them, on principle.
It felt like a year went by, it was probably only three months I caved in and thought, what the heck, just buy it and get my Foamies fix. Oh, was it worth it, it was SO delicious, I had missed them. There were still only four in a pack. I didn’t buy two packs anymore, there was no point.
Now I only buy them about one every two weeks or less. Then about three weeks ago, I bought a pack of Randoms, and oh my goodness, in that one bag, there were about eighty five percent of what was inside that little bag, was Foamies! I say, it was a Fan, a True Fan who wanted to make a Foamite happy, I couldn’t believe it, it was Great!! I wish I could thank that secret Fan, who made my day.
Dedicated to Foamites, everywhere. X
