Urmston.
She united us.
She who has known me all my life.
I had never heard of Your name, or anything about You, until She was ill.
I thought You were a fraud! Preying on the elderly.
I was there to protect, guard and keep safe!
I had never heard of Urmston, if it had come up as a question on, The Chase or Tipping Point, I would not have had a clue.
Urmston, where is that?
You tried to convince me that You were who You say You were, You could not pull the wool over my eyes.
I knew You were a fraud.
I went to see her, You were there too. We three were in the care home bedroom together.
She said, looking at you, “Who are you?” My heart missed a beat, and I thought, I knew it!!
You said, “It is me, Tamar.” She said, “You look different.”
You said, “I have had cancer, my hair fell out and has grown back thin.”
She said, “Oh, yes, I can see it is You now.”
I breathed a deep sigh of relief, for You were who You said you were, after all.
Soon after, She died, I was heartbroken. I drove the long journey to the Church.
You were there, heartbroken too.
I sat next to You in the funeral car.
She united us.
In her Will, only three of us, were given that lovely set amount of money, You, me and her. I cried, for it was such a big amount. I wanted to thank her.
The following year, we met up again You and me, I drove the long way there.
We stood there silently, standing side by side, looking at her grave.
All the years.
You have known her all her life, as I had, she had known, me all my life, even before I was born!
We decided to meet up again, but the years went by and it didn’t happen.
We kept in touch with each other’s birthdays and sent each other Christmas cards.
With the promise of, “Meeting up.”
I sent my Christmas cards early last year, that’s not like me.
This would have been a prompt or reminder, so it was strange that I didn’t get a card back from You.
I never met Your Husband or Daughter or grandson.
I knew all their names, as they, my children and hubby.
A beautiful card arrived this week, they had missed off one of my surnames, I thought, it is someone who don’t know my surname.
I tried to guess, what could be inside, a wedding invitation? An engagement? Its too early for my birthday.
I opened the top-quality envelope and saw the beautiful purple card.
You had died, months ago! That was the last thing, I had expected.
It was Such a Shock!
Your hubby has included his phone number, but it don’t know what to say.
I will go today to my favourite, top quality card shop, the best in our village.
You are now reunited, the last of your clan.
I will visit her grave, for You and me.
Rest in Peace, Tamar.
She united Us. x
