The horn blows it's tune now.
And the dogs begin to run...
Across the open meadow
In the early morning sun.
I hide deep within my den
My heart beats heavy in my chest.
This tail of mine that causes this
Is a trophy for the best!
Crawling to the entrance
Looking upon the bright blue sky.
I sense fear and death in the air now
Willing myself not to die.
I have run all my life
Some day it's got to stop!
I hear dogs bark from behind me
Then the vital gunshot.
As I lay slumped upon the ground
Their teeth bite hard
Into my flesh.
Blood trickles all around.
My heartbeat begins to fade
My fear is almost gone...
This cruelty of mankind
Has continued much too long!
