I wish that I'd said goodbye
Or just a plain and simple'bye'
Why didn't I look up and wave
One of my smiles I could have gave
In Hell's fire I'll always burn
I didn't know you'd not return
On that horrible November night
As you rode out of sight
I was watching something on T.V
You'd gone to the late night shop for me
I heard the screech and thud
As ice ran through my blood
And my body sat there froze
And I knew like a mother knows
When a shrill siren filled the air
I clasped my hands in prayer
A heavy knock at my front door
Meant I wouldn't see you any more
To my little boy who meant so much
All I now crave is your sweet touch
In my silent thoughts, I'll always ask myself why
Why I didn't just turn around and say to you goodbye
