And my body sat there froze

When a shrill siren filled the air
I clasped my hands in prayer
A heavy knock at my front door
Meant I wouldn't see you any more
To my little boy who meant so much
All I now crave is your sweet touch
And in my tormented state I'm forever asking 'why'
Why I didn't just turn around and say to you 'goodbye'
