The Weight of Light

At dawn, Lucifer bore a burning torch to light Venus.
Loadstar led him into temptation until all trespasses were vanquished.
His archangel glory banished into earth’s luminescence.
Forgive us our blinding sins buried in opaque hearts,
warped through warring generations to these days of infernal light.
Physicists, who untangle God’s powers, accept orders to destroy regimes.
Lucent rays gleam off 2000lb MK-84’s screaming through veiled cirrus clouds,
blasting tented refugees in a damned split-second.
Without daily bread and water, the wounded witness a demolished future.
Loaded lies and a light diplomatic touch deliver tyrants from evil.
The world’s blind eye watches mortal lightning out-shine Venus without reprieve.
