Journey's End

I began my travels with map in hand
My start point the beginning
Roads carefully planned
My soul full of confidence
Where my journey should end
I took my first step
As my new life began
No need for worries,
With knowledge intact
Contingencies well planned for
Preparations all set
A smile lit my face,
My heart swelled with joy
Anticipation filled my world
Many wonders lay ahead.
It was then my eyes discovered a wrong turn made,
I found myself lost in an uncertain maze
Darkness formed as black clouds rolled in
I shuddered with fear knowing a storm was ahead.
What to do, what to do….
I had not planned for this
No one prepared me for a trip gone amiss.
I stopped in my tracks
All frozen with fear,
Seeking for guidance
To lead me out of here.
Franticly I searched, calling for help…
Searching for anything,
But found nothing instead.
Bowing my head, I cried in despair
Not knowing where to turn.
No longer could I fight.
How I ever got here I surely don’t know,
But felt with a certainty my journey was at end.
It was then I noticed
A light from above,
A hand reaching out
Touching my poor ragged soul
It spoke these words I’ll never forget….
“Trust onto me and I will surely lead you home “
