City Walls

Walking in his body
With his thoughts in the air
As music passed so slowly
Through his hair
Missing the right turning
As the train stood to go
Walking the wrong journey
For his mind it was on show
Talking through the moments
Of the night just before
Hearing not a mutter
Nor a chord
Mind transfixed on beauty
In a city down below
He started running slowly
For his mind it was on show
City walls and childrens shows
And tired feelings rife
The railway lines were burning white
With clocks ticking slowly to the hour
Trains they were all rolling
To the sound of the time
As southern coaches rolled up
With the chime
The panicked moments over
As the worry settled down
He sat amongst the metal
As she kissed away a frown
City walls and childrens shows
And tired feelings rife
The railway lines were burning white
With clocks ticking slowly to the hour
