Petrified.
The babies they gave birth to were born as petrified fossils. Their hearts became sterile so that is what they concieved. The babies were born without souls. Their parents concurred to relinquish their own souls in exchange for................purity.
That's exactly what they got. Their children are being born sinless like dolls that do not move. At first this did not matter, the world was over populated. Then it started to matter. When too many cradles went empty they tried to solve the problem through the same artificial means that created it in the first place.
This is when it became obvious that somebody needed to do something and do it quickly. Organizations set up sanctioned workshops specifically for live fertility classes. Testing had to be conducted. It was finally determined that for the benefit of the general population that only selected people would become breeders and their progeny would be adopted out.

The donors were called PIB's (politically incorrect breeders) They sinned in order to reproduce live offspring. They sinned HARD. Their diets consisted of sugar and caffeine. Their entertainment consisted of banned books and free speech symposiums. Their clothing revealed too much flesh. They fornicated in any and every hole imaginable all in the name of saving the human race.
But the master plan only worked for a short period of time. Eventually being locked up and used as slave labor to keep the species of mankind going destroyed their spirits. Their minds conformed to the imprisonment and they too began giving birth to the petrified embryos.
The planet is full of them, the unliving dolls that do not eat or breathe or speak. It looks like a childs' playground. Dolls everywhere.
