A Love Story

The neighbors were all gathered around outside in the rain,
and above you could hear a helicopter and a small plane.
Before, Josh was able to elude them,
but, now, they were out to punish him.
Then his father and mother came into the front door.
They were crying because they loved him so.
Tears were flowing from everybody's eyes.
Oh! These were some pathetic cries.
But Josh held the gun out straight.
"Wait, my child! Please wait!"
Oh! The crying voice of a mother.
Those cries are like no other.
Josh screamed to everyone-
"Get out! Go! Please run!"

Anu was Josh's childhood lover,
until she met her teacher, Mr. Glover.
Josh found out about this infamous affair,
so he did what no one else would dare.
He came up with a hideous scheme,
he and his ruthless team.
They raided the school yard
only for blood shed to start.
Many youths were killed though the gang had no grudge against
them.
The bullets were meant for Mr. Glover, but they could not locate
him.
Josh escaped, but his gang was caught.
Josh fled the city after the assault,
but he had to come back,
only because it was love that he lacked.

"Oh, Josh! Put down the gun!"
"I love you, Anu, you know I'm on the run."
"Oh! Josh!" cried his mother,
a cry unlike any other.
"I did it; it's done, you see."
His mother cried- "What about me?
You came from my womb!
Don't make this place your tomb!"
Then they all the heard the sirens.
The police were outside with their squat teams!

Josh shouted- "Get out, everyone!"
His mother cried out- "Oh! My son!"
But before she could say anything else,
Josh had shot himself
right in the heart.
His life ended before it could even start.
