Lies.

I looked into your mouth and saw maggots fidgeting, uncomfortable on your warm, wet tongue. Moths fluttered and shook, pinned down by your hot breath which dampened their wings making them too heavy to fly away. I got closer and frowned in disgust as I noticed the lies that were clinging from the gaps in your teeth, yellow and mushy. Lies, lies, lies, overflowing from your stomach, rising up through your throat and choking you, lies trapped in your teeth, lies breeding and producing dull moths and bright maggots. You couldn’t swallow; the lies kept coming in waves, dripping down your chin, bubbling onto your cheeks, smeared across your neck. I kept watching as you tried desperately to rid your oesophagus of the gunk, pathetic deep breaths through your nose that unfortunately just hit the mass of tangled lies which blocked all airways. Your lungs heaved and your eyes popped as you fell to the floor. Words streaming from your mouth making jumbled up sentences as they bled into the road.
Skip, skip, skip, consequences, manic grin, teeth bared, threatening, dribble, skip, wave, consequence, fuck, dribble, touch her, no, keep going, no, slip this in her drink, grin, dribble, fuck, fuck, fuck, escape, consequence, run, smirk, satisfied, wipe, stab, stab, stab, chuckle, wipe, lick, slice, scream, maniac, psycho, suit and tie, bang, fuck, skip, tear, cheek, consequence, trapped, lies, swallow, skip, skip, skip, yell, manic smile, too wide, teeth, bang, scream, lick, suck, climb, escape, schizo, shake, shudder, shiver, cry, trapped, trapped, claws, spiders, tapping, tweaking, wires, dust, torture, consequence, dribble, fuck, consequence.
I sat down next to your body and arranged the words playfully, reading the lies over and over again, my eyes were motionless and dull, I felt nothing for you, no remorse, no guilt, no pleasure, just a dismal beating in the pit of my stomach. I lay as close as I could to you, wrapping my body around yours, I put my arms under your head and stared into your dead eyes, pupils as small as fleas, the colour already draining out. Your face was ashen and grey and your hair seemed to fall out at the most gentle pull. I kissed your lips, they were dry and brittle and felt a little like sandpaper; I couldn’t resist so put my tongue inside your mouth, kissing you properly, wetting your teeth. I shut my eyes and imagined lying on your bed; you are kissing me back, your arms holding me close. I pull away but you are still looking up to the sky, your lips are still grey, your arm hangs loose, you look pathetic, so I slap you. You don’t flinch so I punch you hard on the nose, a quick jab which splits your nostril and I hear a bone crack. Ha-ha! My face lights up, my eyes sparkle and I grin like a maniac. Another jab, on the eye this time, you still don’t flinch but your eyeball rolls back into the socket so I can no longer see any colour or pupil, just bloodshot white, a little blood bleeds making me remember you have only just chocked to death, the blood is still a little warm. I get angry that you don’t react so stand and crush your arm with my boots, one last kick in your side and I march off frowning, leaving you as if we have just had a disagreement over a lost bet.
I scratch as itching parasites crawl on top of my head, reaching for the sun, warming themselves up, it is quite cold out here so I don’t blame them but I would just prefer them to not creep and crawl over my body. I have enough problems with the shakes without tiny feet scratching my skin and disturbing the hairs. If I slapped at them, they would be pushed off but to be honest with you, I’m pretty scared about what would happen next, they might come in mass numbers and eat me, that’s why I let them stay on top of my head, and sunbathe.
As I strolled down the street I felt the gentle breeze push past my face, making my eyelids shudder; I turned around and saw a few black feathers dropping to the floor, they seemed to hang in the air for longer than necessary but I just assumed that it was my mind tricking me like it always does. I ignored the feathers and continued to stride down the street, eyes fixed on nothing in particular but whatever was in front of me. I ignored girls walking past, showing off too much flesh, slags. I ignored a yappy little shit cocking its leg up to piss against a tree, two old guys smoking cigars outside the local pub, swapping war hero stories, both trying to outdo the other in dramatics. A hippie guy with hair too long for a man, the pussy, I’d like to slice his stupid hair off and force him to eat the dirty scraggly shit. Some mom with a kid who was playing up, not wanting to get in the car, he was moaning in a high pitched girly way which was pretty goddam annoying, and he was falling to the floor as him mom held his arm up, dragging him along. As I approached I fumbled in my pocket for a spare blood capsule, popped it in my mouth and bit down. I felt the blood gush around my teeth and gums like a miniature tidal wave, I stopped next to the car and both mother and child looked my way as I bared my teeth and growled, blood dripping down my chin. The kid screamed and jumped in the car faster than a fucking rocket ship, the mother looked at me in horror but I smiled and tipped an imaginary hat at her as if I was modestly accepting her non-existent appreciation.
I pretended to adjust my hat and coat tail, smoothing down the creases against my torso and did a little skip as I carried on down the road.
