Fireplace (my failed attempt at writing a poem :p)

Do you remember your promise?

Do you remember when you said...

That I was the ember of your life

That joy was rife in my embrace

And it was peaceful by the bookcase

With the comfy fireplace warming our souls

And time stopped when we were together

But you started chasing after a heather

But you forgot the promise you made

And you left me to fade when I needed you most

Still, I can't blame you for all you did

Because fame was only what you seeked

And I was just the same

So let this poem bid you farewell
