I wonder what you're doing,
Who you're with, and where you are?
Not so many miles from me,
Across town, in the same air,
My deep blue sky.

I wonder if you're happy now,
Just good friends or in love?
I could have made you happy,
Every day, would that be enough?

I wonder if you're glad I'm gone,
Free to do what you like, or as you please,
If you're glad, then I'm glad too,
I have no wish to make you feel ill at ease,

I wonder why it is of late
My deep blue sky grows darker every day,
I fear a flood is coming,
So I've built dykes, to keep it at bay,
For I have no wish to cry.
