Mine

She was so gorgeous,
I’m sure you’d agree.
Her eyes a stunning blue,
As clear a blue as tropical waters on a hot, sunny day.
Silky blonde hair, fair skin.
She always appeared to glow,
Radiating joy.
Light and graceful she was,
Each step almost gliding, as though on ice,
Skating while she ran.
Truly an angel in the flesh,
She wouldn’t fit in here.
In this boring grey room,
Bare walls, bare table.
Only two chairs,
One for you, one for me.
She especially wouldn’t care for the likes of you,
So stern, so serious, yet so nosy,
Asking stupid questions.
Her and I, that’s not your business.
She was my princess, I her knight.
Always watching her from afar,
Making sure she was safe.
So alluring in her youth,
Not even yet a teen.
I loved her as the plants love the sun.
But my feelings were unrequited.
No matter how much I showed her my love,
She still seemed to loathe me.
Her cries and screams, as melodic as I had pictured so many times before.
A beautiful rose I had the privilege of deflowering.
Mine in that moment, I wished for it to never end.
I couldn’t stomach the thought of her leaving.
Please sir,
You investigate and solve,
But understand this was no crime,
Understand she had to perish in that moment.
Her last breath destined for my ears alone,
She will forever belong to me,
As she died mine.
