My Room

My room protects me from the night,
A shelter from dark skies.
The outside lost in inward sight,
Unhurt from wicked lies.
Under sheets my heart beats slow
But I knew from the first,
The truth that was a tender blow,
Unsated was my thirst.
I want someone to share with me
The beauty of the World
But the only thing that I can see
Four corners, dark and cold.
