A) Innocence
By piglet
- 605 reads
Innocence and dolls and toys
Unrestrained and lively noise
Sweet, unblemished purity
No crippling maturity
To tie them down and hold them back
Future's iron ropes still slack
Heavy weights have yet to drop
Fun and games have yet to stop
Their minds blackboards unmarked by chalk
Though of the path which this will walk
Foundations are already laid
Decisions taken, choices made
But for now they do not know
Simply happy to come and go
Playing, sleeping, with no stress
Not troubled by their dirty mess
Laughing, loving with no strain
Yet to meet their inner pain
Wathcing the days pass as they please
Contented, free, alive with ease
Enjoy it, children, while you may
Believe me, it lasts but a day.
