Mathematics

If life was a sum
Then living would be easy
Multiply and add
And four take one is three

But somewhere in the muddle
The numbers get all blurred
Times tables get knocked over
And you don't know what you've heard

The maths is killed by feelings
Reason flies away
And what is six divide by six
You find it hard to say

Division and subtraction
Replace the other two
Nothing ever multiplies
Or adds it seems to you

And sometimes all you wish
Is that the numbers go
The twisted figures disappear
And leave you just zero
