You know the feeling.
heart you'd thought a metaphor
dances to its throbbing beat
oozing sweat from every pore
burning cold with fizzing heat
dreams you've never had before
circle in your frenzied sleep
this rush of which you scream for more
you didn't know could feel so deep
You know the feeling.
but you can't explain
embarrassment, rejection, pain
strip the feeling, lay it bare
deform it until all that's there
is childish giggles, silly games,
spiteful gossip; all the same
you laugh, because you can't describe
the feeling, hidden deep inside
and don't want to; instead you scrawl
S. E. 4 S. R. on a toilet wall
You know the feeling.
