Like a cow

I miss you like a cow.
Plaintive I moo,
and ruminate these memories.
They circulate,
Through eight or seven stomachs,
Regurgitated,
Then swallowed back,
And leave a bitter aftertaste behind.

Brilliantly original and
Brilliantly original and imaginative, using a cow as a romantic icon. Struck a chord with me. I'm not very good at moving on, I tend to chew over a broken heart for too long. Never thought of it as chewing the cud before, but it's a good analogy.
I also like writing which is funny and sad at the same time, because that's what life is.
And you're right, moo-ing is such a plaintive sound. When I stay on my sister's farm I hear it all the time. I think they sound sad, especially after dark, but she says they're just keeping in touch, checking in with each other.
