Holding on for nothing

A life spell breathed your lying love into me,
over clouds of depression you shone,
drawing winds across the day,
winds to blow away the cobwebs of my pain.
Nature wrapped her arms around us,
before the hurt starts when you walk away,
strange is this feeling where dawn meets the day.
My love, hold me one more time
before the shadows fade
and burning sunlight shows
the cracks of your deceit.
Lingering moments play themselves over
as you, choose to leave,
closing the door tightly shut.
The end of the day calls and I am on my own,
silence follows tears as sleep claims one more dupe.
Calling again, your voice sings to my ears
lost in the shadows of unwanted love,
you run your fingers across the strings of my heart,
as daylight fades you ask me to stay,
your own hurt needing nursing
so I wrap you in my arms
for you alone
love spells are just the same,
for over clouds of depression you shine,
as I blow away the cobwebs of your pain.
I fade into starkness not knowing my own name.
