Tall Glass Blues

&;#65279;The lady in the tall glass
leans from side to side;
A shadow of her life.
The memory of the pain strikes;
I pull back the crying sob
No lover I need but a friend,
Someone who sees
the way the drink flows
Someone who knows the pain;
But don't drink too deeply
because the lady needs to move.
So the lady sways
In the tall glass.
The message is passed
as it reaches your lips.
A sharp taste
Burns the back of your throat;
as the sweetness
Melts with the ice in the tall glass;
Here's to your good health.
Let the drink
work it's magic in reflection
and the lady, she's still dancing
with life to love.
As Mesmerized the lady moves
Sleepless nights run into
Long dead days;
That fold into sepia brown Blues,
Like falling leaves
colours lose their way.
Times ticking
and I know we don't want this to end,
but that's the way it is.
The lady in the tall glass
is still moving.
So don't let your heart be misled,
Nor walk away.
hold your head high
and stand your ground
For nothing can hide
who you are.
Just remember when you finish your drink
the tall glass remains.
so cherish the pleasure
My Friend!.
