A Story about Fihala

In a far off land much farther than Antarctica or even the North
Pole. So far it is not on any man made maps, it is not even in any
imagination of any person young or old. There is no knowledge of it
what so ever.
In this land lived many fantastical creatures of all shapes and sizes
and colors. There were glow in the dark giraffes, yellow patchwork
elephants, etc they all lived here in harmony. See they existed for the
soul purpose to give children and some very special people
dreams.
There was a little purple bunny named Fihala whom everyone called Fi
Fi because she was so small. See all the other bunnies were large and
had stripes and other wonderful patterns. Some bunnies were as large as
a goat. Fihala was small, but she was feisty. She did her job as well
as any other creature in this far off land.
One day while the other bunnies were meeting for a dream council they
had excluded her. She was sad, and upset. How could the other bunnies
dismiss her so? Why was she such an outcast? Why wasn't her fur
extravagant? Why wasn't she large? She sat on the stairs of the dream
castle and sniffled to herself.
As she cried a handsome wizard came from the ocean of dreams and saw
her sitting there. He walked up to Fi Fi and asked. "What is the
matter?"
Fi Fi looked up at him and brushed away her tears with a small purple
paw. She had never seen a real wizard before, she had heard about their
greatness, and kindness. It was rumored that the wizards could take
them away from their land and into the land beyond the Ocean of Dreams,
and into the homes of the very children they gave dreams to.
Fi Fi reluctantly told the wizard her story. He listened patiently, and
nodded every once in a while, every so often he would gesture to hold
on a minute and would whisper into the small leather bag that was tied
to his waist. The first few times Fi Fi didn't really notice or care.
But after awhile she got curious. "What is in your leather bag?" She
asked after he once again started to whisper into his bag.
"Oh, I'm sorry I did not introduce you. This is Peanut, she is my
familiar."
The wizard then untied the bag and put it onto Fi Fi's lap and soon a
small caramel colored hamster scurried out and sat and held up a little
notebook that said "Hi!" Fi Fi laughed and gave Peanut a little pet
with her paw. The hamster then took out a tiny little pencil and wrote
"Why so glum?" Fi Fi then told Peanut her story and Peanut wrote on her
notebook "Wait one moment."
Then peanut scurried up to the wizard and he picked her up and he
commenced whispering to her as he did earlier, Fi Fi noted that Peanut
would write in her notebook and show him.
"What are you saying?" Fi Fi asked after a few moments.
"How would you like to come with me? I think I have a girl that would
be perfect for you."
"Me? In the land with the humans?"
"Yes, there is this girl I know who has a great imagination and needs a
little help with her writing."
"How could I help her with her writing?"
"Well, you would give her dreams as she sleeps just as you would here,
but you would also be like a confidant to her. Sort of like what Peanut
is for me."
"Why me?"
"Well, this girl she is very...how shall I put this energetic. I think
you would be a good influence on her. She is a great friend to me, and
I would love to return the favor to her. That way, when I go away I can
be sure she will always have inspiration."
"I would love to do it."
"You know, that when you are in the human world you do not take the
same form you do here."
"No, what form would I be?"
At that the wizard asked Peanut if she would care to demonstrate for
Fi Fi. Peanut squeaked angrily, writing furiously. "Oh, it will only be
for a second." Peanut continued her squeaking and writing until he
finally took out his wand and waved it at Peanut. Immediately Peanut
was turned into a stuffed animal, her eyes were turned into seed beads,
her fur was soft cottony material, and her mouth was pink thread. "You
see, in order live among the humans safely you must take this form or
else there might be chaos. After the girl leaves the room you can turn
back into your original form, or while she sleeps, but you must never
reveal yourself to her. Do you still wish to have this task?" He then
changes Peanut back and peanut squeaks violently and crawls up his
cloak and onto his shoulder and bites his ear. He flinches in pain for
a second, but says nothing waiting for Fi Fi to answer.
"Yes, maybe this girl could love me for who I am."
"I am sure she will, she is very sweet and gives her whole heart to
everything she does, and to everyone she knows."
"Ok. Do what you have to do." "This won't hurt at all, you'll feel like
you can move but you can't. Any time you want to turn back just think
about your former being and you'll be back to normal, same with
changing back to the stuffed form. Hold still now." Fi Fi sat patiently
as the Wizard cast the spell on her.
At first she didn't think anything happened, but when she tried to say
so she noticed no sound would come out.
The wizard picks up the leather bag ties it around his waist once more
and Peanut tucks herself away, not before squeaking angrily while
holding up a sign which has another curse word on it. The wizard laughs
and then picks up Fi Fi carefully and cradles her in his arms. He waves
his wand once more and they travel over through the ocean of dreams and
just before they reach the other side the wizard changes into his
normal clothing.
They travel swiftly to his home and the wizard formulates a plan on
how to give Fi Fi to the girl. He decides to leave the bunny on her
doorstep, as a gift, with a note attached.
The note read: Dear Alley, May Fihala bring you dreams, and the ability
to chase after them. Love, Aaron
The wizard, then left Fi Fi at her new home and wished her luck and
left her not before Fi Fi changed back just long enough to give him a
bunny thumbs up. The wizard disappeared laughing, which caused Alley to
open her door to discover Fihala sitting there with the note tied
around her neck. Alley smiled, a tear trailing down her cheek,
snuggling Fi Fi close to her. That night Fi Fi fell asleep in Alley's
arms and dreamt and gave Alley her dreams. Fi Fi was finally happy. She
hoped that she would get to thank the Wizard for his help. One day. For
now, she'll enjoy her new life with her new friend.
