You know God brought us together.
Through favoured winds
Lifted us clear of the blue
So that we too, might feel the truth
Of the mirror.
So don't worry!
The mind's been read the riot act.
There's a laying off, of soured lines
A softening of the pen
And for ourselves
Not so much hair-shirted
As an ability to live with less.
We both know the ropes
For it's always the same dream.
You, me, the long lipped beach,
Curl of the green sea
And with every step
We close the gap on the world.
So that just for one day
Sleep's luxury
Soon steals us away.
