Night's Passage.

An attempt at Tanka.
Dark clouds brooding low
Presaging wings of the storm
Tipped with lurid light
Like a hovering eagle
Before it's prey is sighted.
The moon rides the night
While black stallion gallops
And tossing its head
Send clouds in frenzied dances
And the sky claims its domain.
Surf breaks on the shore
A wind-whipped ice cream topping
Battering the rocks
Eroding across the years
Like sandpaper scours wooden toys.
Calm the Stillwater
Little ripples break and sigh
As the breath of wind
When Nature's fury dies
Echoed in dawn-tinted skies.
