Mind the Step

You may find all our warnings pointless,
Silly or maybe rather dull.
But listen to this story closely,
You'll see we're trying to save your skull.
Now Suzie always hated,
Having to heed to our advice;
Like mind the step or watch your head.
We only tried to be nice.
And so she campaigned long and hard,
To remove these harrowing warnings.
Finally the council did comply,
Our signs were down by morning.
I saw miss Suzie not one week later,
Looking rather worse for wear.
She told me of her heart-wrenching story,
Which proved that life was fair.
"As I drank my morning coffee," she says
"I was shocked at the blistering effects.
So, I stumbled through an open door
You won't believe what happened next.
Down a ramp I sailed without a chance,
Only to collide with a blazing tyre.
I then careened backwards, over a step,
And down crushed a tumble dryer."
Thankfully the dryer only squashed her legs,
But the burns and scrapes will definitely scar.
Her face is now forever disfigured
Which proves complaints don't get you far.
Whenever you next see a 'pointless' sign,
I want you to think of our poor Suzie.
Who would be able to walk today,
If she wasn't so gosh-darned choosy.
