Gifts

Usually given with great thought,
Often accepted with none at all.
Signs of friendship, love, respect;
They are not to be taken lightly.

Two gifts that look the same,
May be completely different:
Given with varied intent,
Chosen for different reasons.

But material gifts only go so far.
Real gifts come from the heart and soul.
From people of different talents,
Different things are given.

From a gifted writer,
A beautiful poem.
From a gifted musician,
A beautiful song.
From a gifted artist,
A beautiful painting
From a gifted intellectual,
Boundless knowledge.

Who you are or what you get
Mean absolutely nothing though.
