Sight Unseen

Before I go
Before I stay
I’d like to know
I have to say:
To let achievement take thy will
And each day be that merry still
To come home with each day ten courses
To grant each daughter ten fold horses
But darker may the world then be
To find out then, you’ve not yet seen
The overall, the picture missed
The essence of a love remiss
And tarnish all
Who’ve gone amiss
The real prize gone
And shattered too
Not held before myself, or you
But blemishes are nigh unseen
As coin runs through your fist a’sheen
And poverty is hardly seen
And poor are but a go-between
A people not yet seen before
Will rise up in ten thousand score
And beat upon the oak front door
As never did, and not before
But heed does not acknowledge this
And time before had never missed
And all come down
And in its quake
A shattering, but in its wake
A wave must settle everything
And in its course, a reckoning
And cleanse us in all reason being
The best to come, is sight unseen
