My Little Song
I think I've seen enough of this world to write a little song
You may say you seen nothing kid, I'll try to prove you wrong
I sit down with a pen in my hand, trying to write some lines
Recollecting back upon my life, of some exciting times
There was a time I do recall, I ran this world amok
Living my life wild and free, riding on my luck.
When I got into to trouble and locked up in a cell
The sergeant came to see me and said, "son you will end up in hell
I laughed at him and said, "You won't see me anymore
He banged me up the very next week, Policemen I deplore!
After the fines I paid, I struggled on into this world
Fighting the system long and hard, my ego was unfurled
I went to summer festivals, drinking and getting high
Serenading pretty hippy girls and thinking I could fly.
Then up to Greenham Common to get the bomb banned
I paid my due's to save this God forsaken land
I sailed across the channel, to try and find some work
Squandering all my money on wine, I just went berserk!
I think I've said enough to write my little song
There's just a small chorus to find, I will prove you all wrong!
From a grown up adult to a small child, get up and have a dance
Because life's too short to worry, we only get one chance.
A wise tramp once said to me, while I waited for a bus
"Learn from life, do not worry, it will only create fuss.
So live your life fully, try always to be merry,
Because honestly kid, you get only one bite of the cherry.
