my family was on that shuttle
and they had earned that flight
that bursting off land
to see what i have never seen
to fly with the sun
to belong
when you never belong on land
we never do

it was a giant step
the first israeli in space
soaring higher
higher
towards peace
towards equality
soaring like the adrenaline pumping
pumping in my ears
it was heady
will be heady
is heady
to be on top of the world
with the countries prayer for peace

it never got there
it exploded

did our dream of peace die with it?
