A ravenous monster begot upon itself,
Chewing the flesh, gnashing the bones.
The frail frame is all that's left,
Collapses and breaks, released from its grasp.
It sunk its teeth in, didn't loose hold,
Dragged from behind, a colossal weight.
Now bones lay stripped, raw and bear,
Now nothing left to sheathe the heart.
Softly, softly, she did leave,
Like a fallen leaf she blew away.
Softly, softly, I kiss her head,
That sunken face, the life she bled.
