"CHRISTMAS PAST "
Cherished Times
I ponder through my thoughts, and search the memories of time,
Bringing back the loving pictures, of the harmony and rhyme,
Snow falls gently to the ground, and covers this void with
beauty,
For Christmas is here again, and Mother Nature bestows her duty.
Cards have been sent to all, loved ones, friends and neighbours,
With messages of goodwill, for all who have given favours,
The tree has been given its special place, just as every year,
Glasses filled to the brim, to give that festive cheer.
Children play upon the floor, scattered with presents they adore,
This scene of tranquillity, has happened so many times before,
Dinner is on the table, and thought has gone into its
preparation,
It has always been that way, and will be, through the
generations.
This look into my past fills my heart with love and joy,
Brings back the happiness when I was young, and a little boy,
On this day my brothers and my sisters all danced about with
glee,
We did sit and sing many carols around the festive tree.
Now my story comes to an end I'm tired and must go to bed,
I will not forget those wonderful years for life is not yet dead,
My children and grandchildren too I wish them the best of health,
For happiness companionship and love, is far richer than wealth.
