I've been cut up
by someone who
had to get home to
see his wife and children

I only had 3 children in the car when
he swerved, made me brake
the baby seat shuddered to a halt
he thought it was my fault
but maybe it's me

A client screamed at me
someone didn't do their job
even though I did mine
neither seemed to care
it doesn't seem fair
but maybe it's me

I pay my way
my child goes to school
a fish in a pond
of thirty
a frustrated teacher
with no magic wand
some go untaught
some get fraught
I think it's madness
but maybe it's me

I stand in a bus
or a train
holding a baby
I think maybe
someone will
will see my aching feet
and give me a seat
I want to shout
WHAT IS THIS ABOUT!!!
