Car park

In the car park at the local Sainsbury’s 

there is a seating area for the adjoining 

Starbucks. People sit out there in the sun.

Warm air rising from the tarmac and

from the oat milk lattes. They chat or read 

newspapers or even more likely, look at their phones.

It’s a strangely reassuring sight. 

People enjoying the summer in the car park of the local Sainsbury’s.
